Sunday 29th March

Scroll down to work through the service and wherever you see green text click on it

From all evil and mischief;

from pride, vanity and hypocrisy;

from envy, hatred and malice;

and from all evil intent,

good Lord, deliver us.

From sloth, worldliness and love of money;

from hardness of heart

and contempt for your word and your laws,

good Lord, deliver us.

From sins of body and mind;

from the deceits of the world, the flesh and the devil,

good Lord, deliver us.

From famine and disaster;

from violence, murder and dying unprepared,

good Lord, deliver us.

In all times of sorrow;

in all times of joy;

in the hour of death,

and at the day of judgement,

good Lord, deliver us.

Prayers

Spend some time in quiet prayer and reflection and then say the Lord's Prayer:

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.

Church of England Prayer relating to Covid-19 Virus:

Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy.
Sustain and support the anxious,
be with those who care for the sick,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may find comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us from your love
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen.

We conclude our time of prayer with the Collect for today:

Collect for 5th Sunday of Lent;

Gracious Father,
you gave up your Son
out of love for the world:
lead us to ponder the mysteries of his passion, that we may know eternal peace
through the shedding of our Saviour’s blood, Jesus Christ our Lord.

It’s been a Topsy Turvy week with no school and working at home, nothing seems to be the same.

Thank you God that you are the same Yesterday Today and Forever.

Enjoy this song and try to keep up!

Prayers for protection:

 Get an umbrella, talk about how it can protect us. Share a time when you prayed for Gods protection in your own life. (Adult)

Write the names or draw pictures of those you care about that need God’s protection and care. Put them on or hang them from the umbrella.

Thank you prayers

Use Lego or another kind of building block.  Take turns to say thank you to God for something.  When you say amen, add another brick to the Thank You Tower!

Lord’s Prayer (older children)

Cut out and learn the Lords Prayer, make it into a chain or bracelet. Can you say it when you wash your hands?
