St James runs purely on the donations of its members and those who attend. Even during lockdown we have been co-ordinating with other faith groups, sending care-packages to our local NHS staff and taking care of our vulnerable members. Our rental income has been badly hit by the various lockdowns and our giving has decreased while services have been suspended. We continue to pay our bills and further God’s mission in Alperton through the generous giving of St James members and this has been vital in being able to plan our ongoing works in the community.

Everything we do at St James is made possible by your giving – thank you.

Ways to Give

+ Give Regularly by Standing Order

Monthly giving is vital to our mission as it enables us to plan impactful, long-term projects to reach more people with the love of Jesus.
To set up a standing order or make a one-off gift directly into our bank, log in to your online banking or visit your local branch with St James’ bank account details:
St James Alperton PCC
Account Number: 30520829
Sort Code: 40-11-58
Quote reference as: your first name and surname
Once you have set up or amended your standing order, please email us so we can identify your gift and thank you

+ Payroll Giving via your Employer

Many employers offer Payroll Giving which allows you to give directly to St James from your salary before tax is deducted. This means if you give £100 per month and are a basic rate taxpayer, the gift will only cost you £80 from your net pay. If you pay a higher rate of tax, £100 a month will only cost you £60 from your net pay. To find out if your employer offers Payroll Giving, contact your HR office.

+ Charitable Aid Agencies

You may wish to give to St James via a charitable aid agency such as Stewardship, JustGiving, CAF, Charities Trust, or Charitable Giving. These agencies are useful for those who give to multiple charities and wish to have their giving recorded in one place or for those who wish to give anonymously to St James.

+ Leave a Legacy

If you are considering making a bequest to St James or have already included a gift to St James in your will and would like to speak to someone about legacy giving, please contact

+ Send a Cheque

To give via cheque, please make the cheque out to ‘St James Church PCC’ and either give it via an envelope at a Sunday service or post it to the address shared in our contact information below.

Please note, due to all staff working from home, your cheque might not be processed and banked in the next month. If at all possible, we would be so grateful if you could try online giving instead.

+ Employer Matched Giving

Many employers offer matched giving schemes. In most cases, the company will match your donation pound-for-pound up to a specific amount; a handful of organisations will even double your gift. You can download a list of companies here that we understand currently match gifts donated by their employees. This list is not definitive, and many more companies may also offer this option.

If your employer is not listed, please contact the Human Resources or Social Responsibility Office at your workplace to find out if they operate a matched giving scheme.
